Acer announced two new gaming laptops today, the Predator Triton 500 and the Nitro 5. Both laptops are powered by 10th Gen Intel Core processors. The Triton 500 is the more powerful option and is available with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX SUPER GPU. The Nitro 5 has the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or the more affordable but less powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650.

Acer emphasized how much work was put in to improve the thermals of the laptops. James Lin, General Manager of Notebooks and IT Products Business at Acer, states, “Most importantly we’ve applied new thermal technology which keeps the devices cool so gamers can enjoy the performance improvements from the latest silicon technology.” Acer states that the 2020 version of the Predator Triton 500 gets 33 percent better thermal performance than the 2019 version. Similarly, the 2020 Nitro 5 has a 25 percent thermal improvement over the 2019 version.

Both devices should be available in North America in May, with the Predator Triton 500 starting at $2,200 and the Nitro 5 starting at $750.

The Acer Predator Triton 500 is a powerful gaming laptop with bumped up internals. It runs on a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and is available with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER.NVIDIA just announcedthe laptop versions of its RTX SUPER cards. The cards support real-time ray tracing. The card you get inside the Predator Triton 500 will be a Max-Q variant, which allows it to fit inside a thin laptop.

Acer states that the Predator Triton 500 will get up to 7.5 hours of battery life. Acer is aiming the laptop towards productivity and gaming, which is more reasonable with longer battery life.

The Predator Triton 500’s display is a 300Hz IPS panel with 3ms overdrive response time. It has 100 percent sRGB and supports NVIDIA G-SYNC.

The Predator Triton 500 is expected to launch in North America in May with a starting price of $2,200.

A powerful laptop with an incredibly fast display

A laptop has up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Max-Q Design and has a quick 300Hz display.

The Acer Nitro 5 is a more affordable gaming laptop, but it still has powerful specs. It runs on the latest 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor at 5GHz and is available with up to a GeForce RTX 2060. You can opt for a GeForce GTX 1650Ti or 1650 if you prefer.

The Nitro 5 has a 15.6-inch display, so you’ll have enough room to comfortably game on the go. You can choose between 144Hz or 120Hz models to deliver smooth gameplay.

Like the Predator Triton 500, the Nitro 5 got a significant thermal performance improvement. It has a dual-fan system and four heat vents that improve thermal performance by 25 percent. On top of that, it has CoolBoost technology, which can increase fan speed by 10 percent.

The Acer Nitro 5 is expected to launch in North America in May starting at $750.

An affordable laptop with power

This gaming laptop is more affordable but still has up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
