What you need to know
Earlier this year, one of the features for Xbox Series X that Microsoft mentioned wasSmart Delivery. This feature allows players to buy just one version of a game on Xbox One and automatically receive the Xbox Series X next generation upgrade for free. All Xbox Game Studios titles will support Smart Delivery but third-party publishers can choose to opt in.
While we already knew that Cyberpunk 2077 would support Smart Delivery, we now know that Ubisoft is joiningCD Projekt Redin supporting Smart Delivery. If you buy Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Xbox One, you’ll get the Xbox Series X upgrade for free. This information was first spotted by @Shinobi602 on Twitter.

The product page on retailers likeBest Buystates “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla leverages the Smart Delivery technology - buy the game once, and play it on either Xbox One or Xbox Series X when both the console and that version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are available.”
So if you’re an Xbox One owner, rest assured that when you buy an Xbox Series X, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will look and run even better at no cost to you. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Xbox Series X are both scheduled to release sometime in Holiday 2020.
