Microsoft OneDrive has officially launched its Copilot feature on the web. This functionality, available to all subscribers with a Microsoft 365 license, uses AI to automate specific tasks while browsing files in OneDrive.
In a blog post, Microsoft says Copilot is designed to help users generate document summaries, compare differences between multiple documents, answer complex questions using files, and generate ideas for new documents using information stored in OneDrive. It works with various file types, including PDFs, Word documents, and PowerPoint presentations.
To use Copilot in OneDrive, users hover over a file, select multiple files, and click the Copilot button in the command bar. Copilot is now available on OneDrive for the web, and Microsoft says it will bring the feature to additional platforms.
Copilot is now available in OneDrive for Web; here’s what to expect
As you may already know,Copilot will soon generate summaries for OneDrive documents, but that’s not all.
Microsoft is currently working on bringing Copilot to OneDrive for Web. With this feature, you can ask questions and get information from your files without opening them.
This sounds impressive, and it will help you find important information faster than before. In addition to searching, Copilot will be able to summarize multiple files with ease.
Regarding the supported format, this feature will support DOC, DOCX, FLUID, LOOP, PPT, PPTX, XLSX, PDF, ODT, ODP, RTF, ASPX, RTF, TXT, HTM, and HTML files.
Copilot for OneDrive is different from Copilot Pro
The new Copilot for OneDrive is different from Copilot Pro, and it’s available for $20. Strangely enough, Copilot for OneDrive is a more business-oriented feature than Copilot Pro, which is dedicated to prosumers, not just professionals.
This sounds like an exciting feature. We can’t wait to see how Microsoft incorporates Copilot with anew OneDrive design. Regardingavailability, the rollout starts in May, so stay tuned.
