Microsoft released Version 131.0.2903.9 to the Edge browser’s Beta Channel. Get ready because the patch is quite big and full of changes that will impact site compatibility.

First things first, though: this version brings an important new feature to Edge, and that’s the ability to instantly update the browser. The Redmond-based tech giant says Edge will instantly and automatically update itself when you step away from your computer. The feature is gradually rolling out to users.

Another important update is a new policy for the Edge browser that will allow specific apps to be opened in the Microsoft Edge sidebar. The Redmond-based tech giant doesn’t mention which ones. This new policy is quite intriguing, considering Microsoft is consideringbringing the detachable sidebar back.

With Version 131.0.2903.9, Edge introduces dozens of changes that impact site compatibility, as we mentioned earlier. From CSS positioning and highlighting to WebHID on dedicated workers, Edge should provide a better user experience.
