What you need to know
At X019, Obsidian Entertainment revealedGrounded, a survival game in the vein of Honey I Shrunk the Kids. This survival game has you reduced to the size of an ant, with a single-player story and support for up to four-player co-op. At Inside Xbox today, Obsidian showed another look at the game, this time with a trailer focused on the story. You can see the story trailer below.
A robot by the name of BURG.L has an idea of why you’re in this particularly pernicious pickle. The story appears to revolve around trying to figure out how to fix the machine that’ll make you normal-sized again.
That’s not all though. Obsidian also shared that Grounded is set to release in Game Preview on Xbox and Early Access on Steam on July 28, 2020. From there, the game will receive more updates and bug fixes as development continues.
If you’re worried about the spiders in the game, don’t be. There’s going to be an arachnophobia mode that reduces how scary they are, though we don’t know the exact details yet. Like with all Xbox Game Studios titles, Grounded is included in Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.
More games than you’ll ever need
Microsoft’s Netflix-style subscription service serves over 100 varied titles for a monthly fee and will include Xbox Series X titles at launch. From hit franchises to experimental indies, Xbox Game Pass has value for all.
