Hollow Knight Silksong MIA at Nintendo Direct; Fans Express Frustration

Tell me, did you not have a single percent of hope in your hearts to learn the release date for Hollow Knight Silksong today? Well, you are not alone. Ever since the sequel was revealed almost five years ago, we all have been waiting for the day when we finally see the princess-protector of Hallownest’s ruins share another announcement. It seems that is not happening yet as another Nintendo Direct leaves every Hollow Knight Silksong fan glum after it stays MIA.

While some already expected the heartbreak, it is still absurd how we haveno information on a game that was revealed in 2019. We did get a few hints here and there. Xbox also announced that Game Pass will also have the Hornet venturing through a new journey soon. But yet, we havenot found when the journey will begin.

As we kept looking at endless Nintendo Directs and other events such as Gamescom, we are now in 2024. And with the latest Nintendo Direct event, fans are starting to express more frustration as the Hollow Knight Silksong release date is still shrouded in mystery.

Frustration Keeps Rising After Silksong Stays in the Shadows

Well, the frustration is not new as fans are losing patience. It has been 5 years since we first saw a glimpse of the new Hollow Knight game. Before the August Nintendo Direct, the fans were praying that this would be the time we finally see the reveal date. However, after sitting through an Indie World showcase and a partner showcase at Nintendo Direct, totaling around 40 minutes, I closed the event stream tab with a lot of disappointment and a sigh. That is not wrong. It seems every game reveal event is now using Hollow Knight Silksong as bait to gather engagement from viewers. The companies understand the love for Hollow Knight and even if there is no new development, they will somehow get viewers to watch just in anticipation.

One of the X users even shared a post saying the Silksong release date was leaked on the Nintendo e-shop.
