How to Make Snapchat Public Profile

If you have joined Snapchat to make new friends or grow your circle, then having a good public profile is a must. As the name suggests, a public profile is what people who are not friends with you will see about you on your profile. So you need to make a good impression on them. But you’ll have to learn the basics first. In this guide, we’ll show you how to create a public profile on Snapchat.

Create Your Snapchat Public Profile

The option to create a Public profile is available on your Snapchat profile page. Do note that creating a Public profile means you agree to show your name on the Snaps shared on Spotlight or Snap Maps. If you are okay with that, here’s how you can create one for yourself.

This will create your Public profile page on the app.

Creating your Public profile was just the start, if you want others to add you then you need to make your profile somewhat attractive. Let’s see what we can do about it.

Add Stories to Snapchat Public Profile

Now that you have added the crucial items to build your Snapchat profile, it’s time to add some meat to it. By this, I mean add some content to help non-followers get an idea of what kind of content you create. To do this, you’ll need to add some stories to your profile.

They’ll be added to your Public account. Even people who have not added you as a friend or not following you will be able to see it.

That is how you can create, edit, and curate your Public profile on Snapchat. It’s a good concept to give people a glimpse of who you are so they can make up their minds. Plus, you don’t have to share everything about yourself unless you want to, or hide yourself completely behind a private account like how it is on Instagram. On that note, you can hide previously shared Snaps, Stories, and saved Memories using the app’sMy Eyes Onlyfeature as well.

There are a few essential requirements that you need to meet before you can create a public profile on Snapchat. You can’t make a Snapchat public profile if you are less than 18 years of age, have had Snapchat for less than 24 hours, have less than 1 bidirectional friend (you follow each other), or you do not adhere to the community guidelines.

While you can view your subscriber count from the moment you create a public profile, it will only appear to the public once you hit 100,000 subscribers on Snapchat. The subscriber count will automatically appear on your public profile, but you will get an option to toggle off/ on its visibility.

The answer is no. When you open someone’s Snapchat profile to check their username, subscriber count, lenses, or old Stories, then the user is not notified. You can easily navigate around their profile and its content at your own pace without having to worry about being called out for it.
