Recently, wereportedthat AI-powered Microsoft Designer’s image editing feature is coming to Microsoft Edge and will be available to users from November onwards. Here is how you can make Microsoft Designer the default Image Editor in Edge browser and use it now in Canary. You don’t even need to wait.
Microsoft Designer is a powerful graphic design tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help you create stunning visuals quickly and easily. Whether you’re a seasoned designer or a beginner, The Designer helps you bring your ideas to life.
Microsoft Designer’s AI features include text-to-image generation, design suggestions, automatic background removal, image editing improvements, and style transfer. These tools help users create high-quality visuals with ease.
At present, Microsoft Designer competes with Canva and other AI editing tools in the market. However, Microsoft Designer often stands out with its AI features and deeper integration with Microsoft Products.
Microsoft Designer is available on the Web, Windows (both integrated intoMicrosoft Photosand as a standalone app), and mobile devices (free on iOS and Android). The company has already integrated Designer with Microsoft 365 apps like Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft recently announced that Designer will be integrated into Microsoft Edge for image editing.
According to Microsoft, you can customize your images byremoving unwanted elements, adding text overlays, improving visuals with automatic cropping, or blurring or removing backgrounds—all without leaving your Edge browser.
Note: Microsoft Designer is currently available for free to everyone. However, it’s important to note that the free version may have some limitations compared to the paid version.
How to enable and use Microsoft Designer to Edit images in Edge browser
The Designer’s integration into Microsoft Edge brings several benefits to users when it comes to image editing using AI. Users no longer need to visit the Microsoft Designer website; in Edge browser, they can simply right-click on an image in the web page and select “Edit Image with Designer”—that’s all, that easy.
Please note, that users need to sign into Microsoft Edge with a Microsoft Account to utilize Microsoft Designer for advanced image editing; otherwise, the tool may not work for you.
Microsoft Designer worked well for us, except for its AI feature thatrestyles photos into artistic works. The edited images will be saved directly to the Microsoft Designer Project website when you sign in with your Microsoft Account. You can also download or copy the image to the clipboard.
