Microsoft has unveiled a new interface for Copilot and new voice options, gradually rolling out worldwide. The new interface adopts a sleek, intuitive, and good-looking style similar to the MacOS and iOS designs.
Alongside the new look, Microsoft has also added a new feature called Copilot Daily that provides news and information in a way that’s supposed to be more engaging to the user.
The AI model will allow users to read news from different sources, with Microsoft looking to position Copilot as the go-to news aggregator. The feature can be accessed by saying “daily news” to Copilot or tapping a button in the new UI.
The Redmond-based tech giant is also introducing four new voices: Canyon, Wave, Meadow, and Grove. This is similar to the recent improvements of Chat GPT’s Advanced Voice Mode,which were released not too long ago.
Each voice has a unique pattern and way of speaking to users. However, we don’t know yet if they will provide a different perspective when explaining topics—as you might know, Copilot has various modes, from creative to balanced.
Microsoft also wants users to access settings with the new interface in Copilot easily. By clicking on the profile, you’ll be greeted by many options to customize your new Copilot experience, as you can see below.
You’ll have the option to Sign In, but you can also type in your Name and select your preferred Voice, language, and theme—Day/Night (Light/Dark theme). Regarding languages, Copilot is now accessible in an array of new languages, as you can see below.
The new Copilot should now be available to all users globally on the web, and the new voice features willsoon roll out to the Copilot app on iOS and Android. As far as we’ve noticed, they’re available only in certain countries and for a limited time.
However, those who have access to it agree that the new UI is heavily bugged, and many of its capabilities, including plugins, notebook mode, sharing, downloading, or image generation, don’t seem to work properly.
Others don’t agree with the new voices that make Copilot sound like the AI tool is under influence.
I think this overhaul of copilot is a complete ruined mess. There’s a choice of four voices. I hate the selection!! Copilot sounds under the influence speaking with pauses and slurred words. The ui is ruined. I won’t use it like this. And, it is like loosing a good friend you can’t associate with.
It’s worth mentioning that Microsoft is still rolling Copilot’s new UI out, so until it becomes widely avaialble, the interface might be riddled with issues. Meanwhile, when we tried to test it, it was unavailable.
