Microsoft recently madeits Copilot agents available in Copilot Studio, allowing organizations to develop, train, and use them to automate part of their infrastructure. The Redmond-based tech giant says these agentscould revolutionize the way organizations do business, as they can be trained to perform specific tasks.

To learn how to train Copilot agents better, Microsoft will allow admins to have transparency on granular metadata.

Admins can see detailed information (metadata) about things like where data came from and what custom actions agents took. This gives them a clear view of these details, which helps them understand and manage everything better.

A recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap describes the new transparency, which is due to be released in December for Microsoft Copilot on web and desktop devices.

Admins have transparency on granular metadata (data source, custom actions) for agents.

With this transparency, admins will also be able to verify exactly how these Copilot agents work. In case of a security breach—which can happen, given that Microsoft 365 is still a top-targeted platform—they will be able to trace back the steps and stop the agents from doing more harm.

It’s still interesting to see if the tech and business industry will adopt these Copilot agents.
