Starting this month, new Outlook for Windows and Web users will be able to access the platform offline, as Microsoft will enhance it with an offline app boot capability. According to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, users not connected to the Internet can open or restart the new Outlook for Windows.
However, offline mode access will only be supported when Outlook is already running and then goes offline.
Here’s whatthe entry says:
This introduces Windows users to the ability to open or restart the new Outlook when not connected to the internet. Previously, you needed a connection to the internet to open or restart the new Outlook. Offline access is only supported when the app is already running and then goes offline. Opening and restarting the app while offline will be introduced with this rollout. #newoutlookforwindows
The Redmond-based tech giant introduced offline mode for platforms naturally web-inclined earlier this yearwith OneDrive for Web.
With Outlook’s offline mode, Microsoft might be looking to make to streamline workloads even in uncertain situations.
