Microsoft is set to introduce a Copilot license optimizer in the Microsoft 365 admin centre, which will help organizations streamline the usage and cost of AI models throughout their infrastructure.

According to an entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the feature uses a data-driven approach to suggest users who will gain the most value from the AI Copilot and assign licences to them.

Here’swhat the entry says:

Microsoft 365 Copilot license optimizer is a new feature in the Microsoft 365 admin center designed to help organizations streamline Microsoft 365 Copilot license assignment and optimize utilization. This feature uses a data-driven approach to suggest users who are in the best position to gain the most value from Microsoft 365 Copilot and efficiently assign licenses to these users.

This capability comes weeks after the Redmond-based tech giant suggestedCopilot candidates to admins, which is a new column in the Readiness section of the Microsoft 365 Copilot Usage report that allows admins to see who’s using Copilot the most.
