This is the beginning of a process that will see Microsoft eventually replace the legacy Edge with the new Chromium-based Edge for everyone. Once testing is done in the Release Preview ring, the new Edge will see a similar automatic rollout to everyone via Windows Update.

Microsoft officially launched the new Microsoft Edge on January 15, initially for Windows 10, 7, 8 and MacOS. Microsoft recently added native ARM64 support as well, allowing Edge to run faster and with more efficient power consumption on ARM-based PCs like theSurface Pro X.
