Many gamers are astonished that the price of some Microsoft Flight Simulator Editions can reach hundreds of euros/dollars, with some costing as much as over $300. People have expressed their frustrationson Reddit about this.

What the hell are these modern prices?

The Reddit post then shows an image of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024—Premium Deluxe Edition and Aviator Edition, which cost 140 Euros and 219 Euros, respectively.

We checked, and it’s true, although their American dollar counterparts are a bit cheaper—$129 and $199, respectively. Either way, if you’re playing Microsoft Flight Simulator from the States, it’s cheaper here.

However, the Limited Collection Edition is more expensive in the US than in Europe, with this version costing$309and279 Euros, respectively.

So why are they so expensive? Well, these editions come with tens of planes and aircraft available for users to try and learn. Since Microsoft Flight Simulator is a real flight simulator, it has real-life aircraft used by flying companies worldwide.

As one user said, Microsoft Flight Simulator is accurate enough for flight training. The aeroplane features are exposed and explained in great detail, and while you might not get the experience of flying a plane, you can surely learn everything about the controls and the numbers, and you can even experience malfunctions.

This. One that’s accurate enough to prepare for actual flight training. You may not get the landing but you’ll get the flying, the controls etc. and a good on paper education.

The price is totally reasonable IMO. Also, the peripherals are an arm and a leg.

If you’re interested in learning to fly a plane, Microsoft Flight Simulator can teach you a lot in a completely safe environment.

Plus, as we mentioned earlier, these editions feature many planes, each with its own set of controls (although not significantly different), setups and so on. The Aviation Edition, for instance, has 125 Aircraft and 160 Airports, giving you all you need to know your way around flying.

The aircraft can be bought separately, but they will cost more than the Editions. Take, for example, the Short SC.7 Skyvan, released earlier this year. It costs about $14.99 separately.

So, ultimately, you get not only a game but also almost a real-life simulator of a flying plane. For those starting their career in flying or wanting to become pilots, this emulator is more than mandatory for additional practice.

You can also play it on yourXbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and PCstarting on November 19.

What do you think about the Microsoft Flight Simulator price for these editions? Is it too much?
