Telegram, the cloud-based instant messaging and voice-over IP service, has released its official desktop app for Windows on ARM PCs. This app version has been long-awaited by users of laptops and tablets running Windows for ARM.
The ARM version of the Telegram appcomes approximately a month after the launch of the Windows 11 24H2 feature update, which brings support for ARM64 apps to Windows 11 PCs. The ARM version was previously available to Windows Insider testers in the Dev Channel, and now it’s rolling out to all Windows 11 and Windows 10 users.
The availability of the ARM version of the Telegram app means that users can benefit from the app’s native performance on Windows on ARM PCs from OEMs like Microsoft, Samsung, and Lenovo. It also bodes well for other messaging apps like WhatsApp and Slack, which are expected to launch on Windows on ARM.
In recent months, Microsoft has been working to fix compatibility issues in Windows for ARM that have prevented many apps from running on ARM PCs.
The Redmond-based tech giant also released dozens of apps for Windows on Arm-based Copilot+ PCs,including several DAWs, allowing musicians and composers to craft music on these devices. More and more apps are expected to be released for this architecture in 2025.
You can download Telegram for Windows on Arm fromGitHub now.
