Windows Insiders enrolled in the Release Preview ring can now get their hands on the Windows 10 May 2020 Update. Today’s release puts the build number at 19041.207, which Microsoft says it believes will be the final build ahead of the update’s full public release.

“We are now getting the Windows 10 May 2020 Update (20H1) ready for release and releasing Build 19041.207 to Windows Insiders in the Release Preview ring,” Insider team member Brandon LeBlanc said in ablog post. “We believe that Build 19041.207 is the final build and we will continue to improve the overall experience of the May 2020 Update on customers' PCs as part of our normal servicing cadence.”

The Release Preview ring acts as Microsoft’s final stop before shipping new Windows updates out to everyone. While the update rolls out to Insiders on the ring, Microsoft will look for any last-minute bugs that would block the update from its public release.

The update will only make its way automatically to some Release Preview Insiders, Microsoft says. However, everyone on the Release Preview ring can manually check for the update via Windows Update.
