Microsoft has released new preview updates under KB5043145 for Windows 11, version 23H2, and Windows 11, version 22H2 operating systems, bringing them to OS Builds 22621.4249 and 22631.4249.

The updates were made available inthe Windows Insider Program earlier this week, but now the Redmond-based tech giant has released them to the general public.

The latest KB5043145 for Windows 11 versions 23H2 and 22H2 includes several new features and changes, such as sharing local files directly from the taskbar’s search box, a redesigned delivery optimization settings page, and the removal of the search box from the Windows Share window.

When media is playing, the media controls show in the lower part of the lock screen at its center. Microsoft has moved the Sign-out option to the account manager when you open the Start menu, which makes it easier to switch to a different user. The company has also added a “Sign out” option to the Account User Interface (AUI) that appears when you hover over the user’s name on the Start menu.

Additionally, the updates resolve an issue that caused Microsoft Edge to stop responding when users attempted to use Internet Explorer (IE) mode and an issue that caused the Task Manager to stop responding when switching from a high-contrast theme to a standard theme.

However, one of the most valuable features of KB5043145 to Windows 11 is the ability to manage your Copilot Pro subscription in Settings without accessing additional web pages. This makes it easier and faster for users.

A known issue in the new Windows 11 version 23H2 and 22H2 updates prevents users from entering their credentials more than once for Outlook or another encrypted email app. Microsoft says it’s working on a fix that it expects to release in the coming days.

Microsoft also released new servicing stack updates (SSU) to improve the robustness of the Windows 11 servicing stack. The update, which you can download from Windows Update, is available for all Windows 11 versions, including 23H2 and 22H2.
