Outlook will allow users to connect to other Office apps directly from the app. The Redmond-based tech giant announced the new enhancement, called the Optional Connected Experiences privacy setting, in a recent entry to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap. It basically makes it easier for users to have wide access to an array of apps without having to repeat the login process.
The new setting is optional and can be easily enabled by going toSettings > General > Privacy and data > Privacy settings.
Here’swhat the entry says:
This rollout introduces the privacy setting for “Allow the use of additional optional connected experiences in Office” in Outlook on the web which is available in other Office apps today. The setting is found under Settings > General > Privacy and data > Privacy settings.
It’s set to be released in December 2024.
In other news, Microsoft has acknowledgedthe frustrating out-of-memory errorthat is still happening on the platform and released a fix for it. If you’re impacted by this, know that you can now temporarily fix it.
Speaking of Outlook activity, you’ll soon be able to work on the platform even when you’re not connected to the Internet. Microsoft decided to enhanceit with an offline mode; we’re not sure how you’re able to use the other Office apps on Outlook while in this mode, though.
